I grew up on a farm with horses. After years of riding and observation, I created a mare that was as strong and imposing as a stallion but also had an inherent grace and elegance. To achieve this, I sculpted her with an extended hind leg as a counterpoint to her proud chest and neck.
The other artistic device is the shattered surface of the horse. This visual reference suggests the timelessness and ageless qualities of the animal and is a proprietary technique I developed for this particular type of Hydrocal plaster.
